The party Resnica will not sign the Partnership for a Successful Slovenia agreement offered to the parties by Prime Minister Janez Janša. “The decision of individual opposition parties, including Mr Stevanović and the party Resni.ca, does not and will not have any impact on the work of the government,” commented the state secretary in the prime minister’s office, Dr Vinko Gorenak.
The president of the party Resnica, Zoran Stevanović, said today that they see no point in signing it. Resnica will, in line with its commitments to voters, support what is good and oppose what is not in Slovenia’s interest, he said.
At the press conference, he added that they are “satisfied with the coalition’s extended hand to us in the opposition”, but after reviewing all points of the agreement, “we truly see no particular reason to sign it, as it is a complete formality and contains nothing substantive.” “Therefore, we remain consistent and will not conclude any agreement with the coalition,” Stevanović stated.
Dr Gorenak: The key is program alignment
“We offered the Partnership for a Successful Slovenia agreement to all opposition parties as an expression of the coalition’s readiness for inclusive dialogue and cooperation in shaping legislation already in the drafting phase, before government consideration. The decision of individual opposition parties, including Mr Stevanović and the party Resni.ca, does not and will not have any impact on the work of the government. The government’s work is based on its programme and the coalition agreement, and legislative proposals are ultimately decided by voting in the National Assembly. It is clear that in certain areas there is programme alignment between coalition solutions and the programme of Resni.ca, which is reflected in their support for individual legislative proposals in the National Assembly.”
In addition to Resnica, all left‑wing parties also rejected the Partnership for a Successful Slovenia.
