Prime Minister Janez Janša was a speaker in an online discussion of the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Harvard Kennedy School.

As Ukraine continues its resistance to Russia’s bloody invasion, which is exacting a terrible price in both lives and destruction, Europe’s support is increasingly critical. Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša has been at the forefront of uniting Europe in order to help Ukraine. On 15 March, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša, together with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, travelled to Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The visit was a concrete demonstration of support and a highlight of the crisis facing not only Ukraine but the whole community of liberal democracies. In this context, the Harvard Kennedy School Belfer Center organised an online debate in which the Slovenian Prime Minister presented his position on the conflict, an analysis of the meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky, the prospects for a negotiated solution, and the discussion on the implications for Europe, NATO and Ukraine in the future.

The debate was moderated by Paul Kolbe, Director of the Intelligence Project at the Harvard Kennedy School.
