The stories we are witnessing in Slovenia today are possible only here, and solely because the deep state has all state subsystems in its “claws”.
If Slovenia actually had a functioning democracy, it would be impossible for a minister to oversee public finances from which she herself is still being funded at the very moment of the oversight. Instead of clarifying accusations about the disappearance of 2.5 million euros, we are witnessing a situation in which the minister is supervising her own spending.
The left is doing everything it can to prevent a change of government, and although everyone is warning about the unsustainable (financial) policies of Golob’s government, Alenka Bratušek, as chair of the Commission for the Oversight of Public Finances, concluded that they had done an excellent job. At this moment, Bratušek is overseeing the financial operations of the outgoing government, in which she herself sits, meaning she is supervising herself. In a healthy democracy, this is unimaginable and unacceptable.
“Alenka Bratušek, as the new chair of the committee for the oversight of public finances from the largest opposition party, Svoboda, which SDS blocked in the previous term, immediately began “overseeing” Robert Golob. They are absolutely insane. And she is still being paid as a minister in the very government she is supposed to “oversee”,” warns Peter Jančič about such anomalies.
