Mojca Pašek Šetinc revealed: Without even applying, they sent us data for the 2008 elections

“We requested data for the 2022 elections from the Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia (FURS), but they also sent us materials for the 2008 elections,” revealed Mojca Pašek Šetinc, the former president of the commission investigating suspicions of illegal financing of political parties, in Thursday’s broadcast of Tarča on TV Slovenia.

This indirectly confirmed rumours that the Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia (FURS), led by the person from the Gibanje Svoboda party, Peter Grum, had been sending significantly more confidential data to the commission than requested. These data were alleged to then be directed to the now former general secretary Vesna Vuković. Part of the data was said to have ended up on the Necenzurirano portal, co-founded by Vuković, where journalist Tomaž Modic, also a professional collaborator of the mentioned commission, is active.

In the mentioned case, where FURS sent the commission confidential data for the 2008 elections, even though it did not request them, it concerned information about media advertising leases through the company Pristop. However, this is not supposed to be the only case. There are said to be several instances where FURS sent significantly more data to the commission.

Pašek Šetinc herself publicly admitted that the commission she led when she was still a member of the Gibanje Svoboda was established with the intention of discrediting the SDS party.
