We have already reported that specialised state prosecutor Mateja Gončin, who prosecutes the most serious crimes, has been left at the mercy of the Balkan mafia. Her security protection was revoked, which she learned about yesterday during a meeting with the head of the Specialised State Prosecutor’s Office, Darja Šlibar.
The police later denied this; however, Mateja Gončin’s legal representative, David Sluga, confirmed that her security protection had indeed been revoked. This decision has exposed her to immense pressure, as she now has to ensure the safety of her family, herself, and her home on her own.
The withdrawal of protection for Mateja Gončin was expected after the prosecutor filed a complaint in court last week against the leadership of the police and the Protection and Security Centre, citing numerous irregularities in her security arrangements from 2023 to 2025.
Now, well-informed sources report that she is undergoing “further training”. Since she refuses to comply and remain silent, the process has moved to the next phase – isolating those who expose irregularities, much like what happened to Judge Radonjić and others, many of whom remain unknown to the public.
The plan allegedly involves continued harassment and intimidation of the prosecutor, as well as incitement against her. According to our sources, the highest ranks of the current police leadership, the Ministry of the Interior, the head of the prosecution, the General State Prosecutor, and – of course – the Minister of Justice, Andreja Katič, are all complicit. They are all silently watching and publicly insisting that the matter should be resolved within institutional corridors – in other words, swept under the rug. Gončin is expected to remain silent if she wants peace.
Our sources further claim that the tormenting of prosecutor Gončin and the passivity of the Ministry of the Interior (including the police) – with Minister of Justice Katič failing to intervene despite the prosecution falling under her jurisdiction – is also “part of a political game, with SD undermining the Ministry of the Interior, which is controlled by Svoboda”.
