Some media outlets revealed before the 2022 elections that “journalist” and later secretary of the Freedom Movement party, Vesna Vuković, received a payment of 104,000 euros from GEN‑I.

Tamara Vonta is now attempting to use a similar tactic, seeking, through the commission that the former president herself described as a tool for political score‑settling with the opposition, to accuse the SDS president’s son, Žan Janša, of receiving illegal payments.

And of course, because this concerns the opposition, the “government‑aligned” media seized the story immediately, reporting loudly on how Žan Janša allegedly received 131,000 euros over two years. Yet many are pointing out that the 104,000‑euro payment to Vesna Vuković, made in a single day, still hangs in the air.

Following Vonta’s latest “revelation,” SDS president Janez Janša also responded, sending a message to her and to the media: “What my son earns in a year through hard work as an IT specialist, Zoran Janković’s son in personal bankruptcy spends in a single day.”
