“The Government of the Republic of Slovenia issued a decision at a correspondence session, based on the proposal of Minister Andreja Katič, appointing Dr Milan Brglez as State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice as of July 17th, 2024,” the Ministry of Justice announced.

Dr Milan Brglez was the head of the Department of International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana from 2008 to 2014. He was later the President of the National Assembly, and since July 2019, he has been a Member of the European Parliament, they further stated.

He was known for his arrogance and bizarre statements about “natural law”. Later, he joined the SD and became a Member of the European Parliament in 2019, until this year when he was left out in the cold, as the SD secured only one parliamentary seat. However, it appears he was saved by Justice Minister Andreja Katič, who will be his new boss and a party colleague. The current State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice is Andreja Kokalj. During the term of the previous minister, Dominika Švarc Pipan, the State Secretary was Igor Šoltes, who was dismissed due to the Litijska affair.

Malicious tongues are already asking whether Brglez will perhaps be solving the issue with the building on Litijska …
