(EXCLUSIVE) Why Žan Mahnič really “raised the pressure” of Svoboda’s MP Miroslav Gregorič

By: G.B.

The reaction of Svoboda’s MP Miroslav Gregorič to SDS MP Žan Mahnič’s remarks about Udba clearly revealed more than the MP intended. Now, we know why. Žan Mahnič also pointed this out specifically:

‼️ Our nation keeps the evidence ‼️

Now I understand why #GibanjeSvoboda MP Miroslav Gregorič @MGregoric lost his temper yesterday when I told him I would check if he was also on the list of Udba collaborators.

I found him on the list❗️

Miroslav Gregorič is listed under the code 0020000-00000, which means…

According to the Udba.net list, Miroslav Gregorič is indeed listed as a collaborator with the communist secret services. His reference number is 20000-00000, indicating that he was an associate of KOS (the Counterintelligence Service of the Yugoslav People’s Army – YPA). Typically, the State Security Service (SDV) offices would also record collaborators of the Yugoslav Army’s security organs, some of whom worked both for the “civil” Udba and KOS or the YPA Security Service. This has been confirmed by Igor Omerza, an expert on Udba archives, who also confirmed that Marta Kos had certainly collaborated with the SDV.

However, it should also be noted that inexperienced officials often misspelled surnames, and in this case, Gregorič appeared on the udba.net list under the name Miroslav Gregorčič. However, the birthdate and residence address indicate that it was a typographical error. Interestingly, a medical practice with the surname Gregorič can be found at the same address.

It is worth noting how the successors of the communist regime often deny connections, claiming that Marta Kos had nothing to do with Udba because it supposedly ceased to exist after 1966. In reality, the Administration of State Security (UDV, or UDBa in Serbian) was merely renamed to the State Security Service (SDV). Despite the reforms that Yugoslavia’s political secret police underwent after the communists came to power, it is clear that a name change does not mean much.

Additionally, it is important to remember that both Udba/SDV and KOS of the YPA share their origins in OZNA (the Department for the Protection of the People), which evolved from the original VOS. The VOS formally operated as part of the Liberation Front, though it was specifically founded by communists. Its agents were responsible for sabotage operations, including assassinations of “class enemies”. Incidentally, one of the most well-known KOS collaborators in his youth was Milan Kučan, who was codenamed “Plavi” (likely due to his blue eyes).
