Does Golob’s government want to trigger a collapse in the fuel supply right on election weekend? Everything seems to point that way!

Before next week’s new calculation of fuel prices, the government will make substantial changes to excise duties and levies, yet an increase in the prices of motor fuels and heating oil is still expected. On Tuesday, the price of a litre of diesel is expected to rise by 12 cents, with a similar increase for heating oil, and a slightly smaller one for 95‑octane petrol.

What worries us more is the behaviour of the government’s leading representatives, who with their statements are stirring panic among people about major price hikes supposedly caused by events in the Persian Gulf. Yet the situation there is in large part the result of Europe’s passivity, which indirectly helps the Iranian ayatollah regime.

This means that an even greater rush to petrol stations and further disruptions in the fuel supply could follow soon, possibly at the end of the week, right at the time of the elections.

Although the responsible ministers, Klemen Boštjančič (Finance) and Bojan Kumer (Environment), insist on the one hand that there is no need for panic, they clearly contradict themselves, since their statements at the same time give the impression that the situation will worsen.
