The president of the Gibanje Svoboda party council, Mirta Koželj, has resigned from this position, the party confirmed for STA. Koželj, who is also the president of the health council at the Ministry of Health, is said to devote herself entirely to work in this position in light of the long-awaited health reform, the party announced. The party council will decide on her successor on Wednesday.

The party’s council, which according to the statute consists of members of the government elected on the party’s proposal, members of the National Assembly and MEPs, members of the party’s executive committee and up to 25 representatives elected at the congress, will therefore meet on Wednesday in Brdo pri Kranju, where before that a coalition summit will take place.

At the time of the election of the new president of the party council, the work plan of the largest government party will be on the agenda.

Who will succeed Koželj at the head of the party council, who has held this position since the founding of the Gibanje Svoboda party in January last year, will be announced after the middle of the party council meeting, when the members of the council, as provided for by the statute, will elect a new president from among themselves.

Otherwise, it is a rather interesting decision, considering that the Minister of Health Danijel Bešič Loredan, who belongs to the quota of ministers of the Gibanje Svoboda party, had to bow down to Zoran Janković.
