“The outcome of the American elections is perhaps the most important event of the last ten to fifteen years. It represents not a political victory, but a victory in the cultural civil war raging in the USA,” says conservative thinker Andrej Lokar, adding that implementing reforms could bring about a change in the world.
In the recent U.S. presidential election, former President Donald Trump emerged victorious. Even before his election, he had announced plans for significant changes across various sectors, and his public speeches have resonated even more since his win. There is a prevailing belief that the election of Kamala Harris would have meant a continuation of the current president Joe Biden’s policies, maintaining the status quo, whereas Trump’s election was expected to bring far more substantial changes.
Commentary from conservative thinker Andrej Lokar:
“The outcome of the American election may be the most important event of the past ten to fifteen years. This is not a political victory but a victory in the cultural civil war raging in the USA. It is not a win for the Republican Party, but rather a triumph for a broader movement that seeks to simply consolidate the foundations of Western civilisation, which cancel culture is trying to abolish. Of course, this victory should be understood in the context of victories by other conservative parties in the West. Again, it is a moral victory, indicating that people desire traditional ethics. The impact on Western civilisation will be significant, but it is essential to carry the process through to the end, as cancel culture forces will lie low and re-emerge in a completely new guise. Thus, the reform process needs to be completed. Regarding Slovenia, Trump’s victory will certainly affect our elections, so we can expect a reaction from the deep state and all its affiliates, which will lean on an international framework that opposes this change. What that framework will be depends on Trump’s foreign policy.
The dismantling of the censorship machinery will naturally impact all arenas, but it will also provoke fierce reactions in the U.S. Trump’s victory is the first plebiscitary win for the right since Reagan and Thatcher, in the struggle against neo-Marxism, which emerged in 1968. Now there will be a counterattack from cancel culture and the entire media, legal, and perhaps even military and intelligence machinery. If his administration withstands the initial shock of this backlash, he could implement reforms that might change the world. This will inevitably affect the situation here as well, but since we are also experiencing a latent civil war, I expect the forces of destruction will reset themselves. It will therefore depend on us and our engagement whether we allow this to happen or not.
Changes regarding gender ideology can only be influenced by appropriate legislation, which can only be enacted through consensus – that is, by convincing the people. This is not too difficult, but even here we are dealing with reforms that can only be implemented by a stable government. That is why the Slovenian centre-right must establish NOW a coalition encompassing political parties, civil society, business, science, culture, and even religious organisations. It needs a strong moral movement that enables legislative alignment with the broadest possible consensus. Only in this way will it be possible to defend these achievements, as a period of radicalisation will follow. Cancel culture understands that this may be the last chance in history to seize complete power and completely alter the course of our civilisation. Therefore, it will go all-in. Only a strong movement can counter this.”
