The Spice Girls are studying their songbooks to make sure they’re ultra PC on their return to the stage.

The world is a very different place to what it was when the Spice Girls were topping the charts.

So much so that they are set to tone down some of their lyrics ahead of their comeback tour to make sure they don’t overstep the mark 20 years on.

The girls – Geri Horner, Mel B, Mel C and Emma Bunton – are studying the songbook to ensure they are 2019-ready, according to the Sun.

The first lyric to go is from Spice Up Your Life, with the line “yellow man in Timbuktu” now considered a no-no.

Instead, the foursome are likely to sing “happy people in Timbuktu”.
