Doctors in China have released graphic footage of them removing 11 live worms from a baby’s eye, reports The Mirror.

According to reports, the five-month-old child, named only as Dong Dong, contracted a horrific roundworm infection from a neighbour’s pet and had to have surgery.

The mother took the child to hospital after she noticed her baby was extremely uncomfortable, and spotted something in one of the eyes.

Five-month-old Dong Dong was inspected by medics and found to be suffering from a nematode infection, with doctors finding numerous worms slithering on the surface of the eyeball as well as inside the eyelid.
