We have all lied at some point in our lives. At least as children. I do not remember my childhood lies, but I do remember that, before I started school, I hid from my parents that I had closed the neighbour’s house door too hard when leaving my friend’s place, causing the glass to fall out and shatter.
I stayed silent, pretending nothing had happened, until my conscience started weighing so heavily on me that, despite my fear of the consequences, I confessed my little crime. My mother told me I had caused damage and that such things were not acceptable, while my father immediately went to the neighbours, wanting to pay for the repair. But he did not have to – because they said the glass had been poorly secured and could have fallen out at any time. They admitted that the real problem was their failure to properly seal it in time. I felt relieved, but my parents made it very clear that hiding the truth was just as bad as lying, and that lying was unacceptable. Since then, I have not been able to lie – which has, more than once, cost me a peaceful day. The fear of consequences, of what an authority figure might do, is the reason why people lie. However, as we grow beyond early childhood, we should learn to accept the consequences of our actions. A person can only grow into a healthy adult if they have strong moral authority figures in their parents and educators, while also feeling loved by them. Otherwise, they become liars. And I believe that our current government, at all levels, is filled with liars and fraudsters – or, in one word, cowards.
Who is lying to you? (This is also the title of the most current and popular show on Nova24TV.) And why are they lying to you?
Politicians are lying to you. For example, the MPs of Levica. They claim that Janez Janša’s second government, with Minister Vizjak, lowered pensions by reducing the pension assessment percentage from 76.5% to 56.25%. This is either deception or an outright lie because they fail to mention that the wage mass coefficient used in pension calculations was 0.73 before Vizjak and was raised to 1.0 after the reform. They also fail to clarify that one calculation was based on net wages and the other on gross wages. The result? The disastrous pension cuts introduced by Rop’s LDS government were halted. In this case, the leftists are liars.
Civil society is lying to you – first, about abortion. They conceal the fact that the initiative for Malta, where abortion was paid for, was actually about eliminating that cost. Instead, they falsely claim that abortion is restricted in Slovenia and that we need to fight for it – when, in reality, the Constitution allows it. Their deception is a blatant lie.
Civil society is lying to you – second, about water rights. They hide the fact that water sources in Slovenia are already accessible to all people and that we have clean drinking water. They launch a massive campaign, with young mothers pushing strollers handing out flyers about the “right to clean drinking water”, and voilà – a referendum on the matter succeeds. Riding that wave, the manipulation of freedom continues, and we end up with a deceitful government. Not to mention the silence of civil society when Mayor Janković planned to run a sewage pipeline through Ljubljana’s drinking water source – a concealment that is no different from a lie.
Civil society is lying to you – thirdly, a petition circulates on social media calling for a legal ban on children having phones in school because they are harmful. In reality, schools can already regulate this through their internal rules, prohibiting the use of mobile phones on school premises. Students can still make calls from the school’s office phone or use their own phone, but only in designated areas. Schools can also enforce sanctions, such as confiscating the phone, which parents would then have to retrieve.
If anything needs to be legislated, it should be that schools – except in cases defined as criminal offenses by law – are entirely autonomous in maintaining school discipline and assessing student performance. No court or lawyer should be allowed to interfere in such matters. However, for this to work, we also need school principals who are not cowards.
In my opinion, the real purpose of this petition is to collect signatories’ email addresses so that, as the election campaign approaches, people can be bombarded with propaganda featuring a new, fresh-faced figure with headphones – the latest invention of Kučan. And do not be fooled into thinking that, just because the petition does not explicitly ask for an email address, this information cannot be obtained. Try responding to an app like Gainrep, for example. Not only does it capture your email address, but it also pulls ALL the email addresses from your contacts list – everyone you have ever corresponded with. And so, the network expands. No, the real problem is not phones in schools – it is this petition! Beware of it and do not sign it! There is no substantive reason for it, and it could lead to serious technical and ultimately disastrous abuses. This is not just a lie – it is a sophisticated deception!
The government is lying to you – first, you can see it in your medical referrals – not 30 days to see a specialist, but 3000. You can see it in the long waiting lists for nursing homes. You see it in the overpriced military vehicles while you continue paying for long-term care that you will never receive. You see it in the fact that, out of 100 promised houses for flood victims in a year, only one has been built. You see it in your overpriced rental apartment – where only 3 out of the 3000 promised affordable housing units exist. You also see it in the hypocritical headscarf-wearing of the Foreign Minister and the Prime Minister when visiting Islamic leaders – both of them vocal LGBT advocates – while remaining utterly silent about the torture and execution of Iranian women and the hanging of homosexuals. And you see it in how little they care about your personal and financial security. Take the Litijska road scandal – what happened with Švarc Pipan’s subordinates? Were they lying, or was she? Nothing? Silence? Cover-ups are lies.
The government is lying to you – second, they claim that only a small number of artists will receive special pensions and that the total cost is insignificant. They also argue that holding a referendum on this issue would be more expensive than the pensions themselves over several years. But they are lying. Because, as always, they will distribute these special pensions to whoever they want – and all the right people. And those people will not be Janša supporters. Those have been depoliticised long ago. Just go to any embassy and look at whose portraits hang on the walls. Oh, they just happened to buy them, they will say. It was not required. Sure. I think they are lying. And make no mistake – this will not be a minor financial burden. Because these are not public funds. They are private savings from citizens who contributed to the pension fund. This is theft. And as the saying goes, whoever lies, also steals. Our government is consistent in this.
The government is lying to you – third, fourth… nth-time, and when do they ever not lie?
And many mayors are lying to you, too. Those who still insist on keeping streets and squares named after the murderer Tito.
Lies are the immortal soul of communism.
A lack of moral grounding and love in childhood produces cowards. And cowards lie. Because they cannot face the consequences of their actions. Their mothers did not love them enough, and their fathers were cowards themselves. That is why conservative Americans expect their president to present his family – because it reveals something about his character.
But perhaps these lies will start to fade. Because lying is costly, and resources are not unlimited. At least now, with the drying up of funds from Obama-Soros networks, USAID, and everything else that the DOGE programme will soon expose. Then, the liars will disappear – because without lies, they cannot survive.
IN ANY CASE – GO TO YOUR ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT AND SIGN THE REFERENDUM AGAINST SPECIAL PENSIONS FOR ARTISTS! SUBMIT YOUR CONFIRMATION TO THE INITIATOR – IN THIS CASE, THE SDS PARTY!
