When a millionaire claims to be a victim of the system

Parliamentary elections are approaching. And as before every so far, the left will offer us a new face. Something fresh, because we know for those before that they are incompetent and that they will not get enough votes. The KUL quartet is out. In two years, despite the crisis, threats to coalition MPs and the constant collapse of measures, they have failed to change power. They have failed to shake trust between the parties forming the governing coalition. The uncles therefore decided to announce someone new – Robert Golob.

Robert Golob was a supporter of the current government until the end of his term. If not a supporter, at least he did not criticise it. He even publicly praised some of the government’s investments in infrastructure and energy. However, when he did not get a new term at the helm of Gen-I, he began to see fascism and fascists. His rhetoric became the rhetoric of a bloodthirsty revolutionary who would have preferred all those who had done him injustice to be killed, or, as he put it, to be driven away. The fascists were immediately all those who support or are part of this government. Everyone needs to be driven away. Up until that point, we kind of thought Golob was a big bluffer, but at the press conference we found out he is completely in his world. If we forgive him for talking about socialism and charity and even fascism, we cannot forgive him the sentence he said to our journalist.

He would give back to people what is theirs

The question was: “Why did you support this government until recently, but now you are declaring it fascist. Why the change of speech?” The response of the self-proclaimed messiah could not be more grotesque. Robert Golob changed his beliefs in one day because he fell victim to the system. The victim? With 200,000 people living below the poverty line, with single mothers barely surviving their children, with farmers and disabled people with a miserable pension, with patients waiting for years for a doctor’s examination, with workers barely paying high rents, and young people repaying housing loans, the victim is Robert Golob with a salary of 45 thousand euros per month! Yes, you heard right. Golob considers himself a victim!

In addition to the victim complex, another outstanding feature of Robert Golob is his “generosity”. His public image was somewhat damaged by the fact that, in addition to his allegedly illegally high salary, he was also paid 800,000 euros in business performance bonuses. Almost a million euros for a meagre 15 million euros in profit. People did not accept this the best, so the uncles advised Golob to present himself as a great philanthropist. He has publicly announced that he will donate his award to people in need. Preposterous. Why? Because it is not his money, it is the money of the very people he would save. Because it is a state-owned company, the money that flows into that company is taxpayers’ money. Golob will give back to the people what is theirs anyway, and the people will applaud.

Robert Golob is the new face of the 2022 elections. According to current data, he will take over Jure Leben’s Z.Dej party, and Igor Zorčič’s DeSUS and LIDE parties are also expected to join him. Uncles have a bigger problem with the stubborn presidents of the KUL coalition. Bratušek was Golob’s boss, so it will be difficult for her to submit to him. Šarec’s ego will not allow anyone to be above him, while Fajon still hopes to be saved by a well-oiled POP TV propaganda machine. For the Levica party, which is falling apart, it would be strange if they support the millionaire, who would probably be driven into the sea by Miha Kordiš with a bayonet. The new project on the left is therefore not threatened by the success of the current government. The project is dead even before it started. Golob is too rich and too little known for people to accept him. He will run with clients that are almost gone or barely formed. He will then have to coordinate with KUL members, which is a recipe for disaster. Unfortunately, the uncles chose the wrong one. They have chosen a man who will be buried at every confrontation by one question: Have you already returned your overpaid wages? If he answers yes, people will know it was part of illegal practices. If he answers no, people will know he is greedy. And if he does not answer people will know he is hiding something. It is better not to go into politics at all, because regardless of the polls, he will be able to land even lower than Šarec.
