We are ruled by engineers of human souls

“Share and rule” has been a very useful rule since the ancient Romans, and it is also very popular in Slovenia.

Maybe it would be time to pull my book “Slovenia, get up” from the drawer, if you have one, of course (or you can order it from the Nova obzorja publishing house or through the vseknjige.si portal). In the past few years, I have almost resignedly pointed out that the influence of the political underworld on events is too great for the elections to be held in the spirit of equal competition. Well, I understand that even in countries with a long democratic tradition, there are a lot of hits below the waist.

But something is happening in Slovenia that cannot be attributed only to immature democracy and backward political culture, even though we are dealing with it all the time. It is about something more, namely the engineering of human souls, which works based on mass psychology or anticipating the reactions of certain groups of people. Of course, the media are one of the main tools for carrying out this type of socio-psychological engineering, but the whole thing is much more sophisticated and perverted that we can practically not understand. Or as Branko Grims wrote about twenty years ago: “For Slovenian engineers of human souls, Orwell was an ordinary apprentice.”

And if the engineers of human souls know anything well, then they know how to throw as many seeds of discord as possible between the SDS and NSi. It is enough for MEP Ljudmila Novak to “stretch her tongue” a few times and the quarrel is here: accusing each other and being smart about who is to blame for this and that… A very well-studied game, I must admit. Robert Golob and his can rightly shake hands with satisfaction. It will not be difficult to rule with an internally divided and conflicting opposition. Especially if the parties in the dispute engage in such a way as to take advantage of their weaknesses, so that in the event of frustration over lost elections, they are immediately ready to erase the deep state from the equation. Therefore, the ruling party will not have to work hard to win the post of President of the Republic. It is enough for Ljudmila to enter the game and Marta will become the new uncrowned queen of Slovenia. With her Udba dossier…
