For a long time, it seemed as though Slovenian politics was trapped in a vicious circle of new faces, old operatives, and promises that never come true.
From year to year, we kept saying that we had hit rock bottom. And perhaps we were right, but in truth we have experienced it only now. In cases of non‑democratic states such as Venezuela and Cuba, we can clearly see that it is possible to sink even deeper. But Slovenia decisively rejected that possibility in the elections. It showed the current politicians and centres of power the exit door, the inglorious finish line. We have reached the political bottom of sobering up, the moment when the fog lifts and people finally see clearly. The latest elections were not just another statistical event; they were a quiet revolution of common sense. This is clearly shown by the election analysis.
If in previous years we watched experiments based on instant new faces and empty rhetoric, this time the results brought a breath of fresh air. For the first time, a vital part of our society expressed its position so massively. We are talking about young people, the working population, farmers, entrepreneurs, individuals on whom our country quite literally rests.
This shift is not accidental. It is the result of the realisation that a country cannot thrive on theories, but only on a strong economy and respect for tradition. Centre‑right thinking, which emphasises stability and development, has once again found its way to those who create added value.
Particularly encouraging is the trend among the working population and young people. With the exception of the retired segment of the electorate, which remains caught in old patterns and promises of social security that the left likes to repeat (but rarely fully fulfils), the rest of Slovenia clearly chose the centre‑right direction.
This is an optimistic sign for the future. It means that the generations carrying the burden of development want a state that will not hinder them with high taxes and bureaucracy but will stand by them as a partner. This is the voice of those who look forward, not backward.
Although much work lies ahead, the direction is clear. We have reached a point where there is no longer room for illusions. From here, the path can only go upward. The results show that a strong, stable, and values‑oriented majority is forming, one that understands that prosperity does not fall from the sky but is the result of wise decisions.
Slovenia is awakening. The decision for the centre‑right was not merely a choice of a political option, but a choice of normality, development, and pride. The bottom we felt beneath our feet gives us optimism that things cannot get worse than they were. That the vital part of society no longer buys pretty shells with empty content. And that despite acute uncertainty, we can breathe freely again. We can now clearly say that Slovenia is choosing a more stable, more successful, and more confident homeland!
