Slovenian embassies around the world receive numerous letters of support for Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša, who recently visited the hotbed of war in Ukraine with the Polish and Czech Prime Ministers and met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kiev.

Among them is also a letter received by the Slovenian Embassy in Canberra, Australia:

“Your Excellency,

please accept my compliments and respect for the moral and physical courage of your Prime Minister Janez Janša, who personally travelled to Kyiv, while Russian forces in the hot war do not spare civilians.

I am an eighty-year-old doctor who worked as a young and unmarried man in three war zones – Bangladesh, Portugal Timor, and Vietnam – and I regret that I can no longer help because of my age and weakness.

I now accept that, after my death, I will leave my sons, daughters, and grandchildren in a world where their European heritage and homeland will be in the hands of principled and courageous people.

He has faithfully proved that he represents his people in their love and support for the citizens of Ukraine.

With respect and sincerity,

Dr Phillip Chalmers”

As said, letters with similar content come from everywhere, people all over the world have not even remotely ignored the courageous and heartfelt act of the Slovenian Prime Minister.
