One of the scientific peculiarities of the Hubble Telescope is that it allows us to look far back into the beginnings of the universe. I have discovered something similar with our left-wing. In our case, the left-wing constantly tries to obscure our view of the past because the past is something that no longer interests anyone today, and various interpretations of this past are supposed to sow discord among honest and truth-loving people. Therefore, it is best to keep it shrouded in a red mist.
These days, we are witnessing how the revolutionary stargazers, whose eyes are always focused on a bright future, inadvertently, through various activities where the newspaper MLADINA plays a leading role, depict clear images of the primordial black hole of our socialist galaxy in 1945.
All those who call for the public condemnation of Israel, claiming it is committing genocide against its neighbours in Palestine, and advocate lighting candles for the victims of the Jewish state, are providing us with a clear view back to the time after 1945. Just like in Palestine today, back then, in our country, only those victims who received the label OURS in the communist regime were recognised and deemed worthy of regret. Victims who were on the “correct side” of history. These victims were given monuments, good jobs, affordable education, good pensions, and on top of that, a ticket for a better start in independent Slovenia when they squandered the socialist state. Murders were hushed up, graves hidden, and lighting candles forbidden. Believe me, I know what I am talking about. I experienced it all first-hand.
Those who now call for lighting candles in Ljubljana only for certain victims, those you have chosen as victims, do not realise how wide open you have thrown the window into our revolutionary past. You are not fitting into our new era, which should be humane and just. At least we should strive for that. You are still trapped in communist dogmas, a mixture of national socialism and anti-Semitism, without any critical reflection. Without any feelings for suffering fellow human beings. Your regret for dead civilians and children is shamelessly feigned, as you only see those victims with whom you can carry out your terrorist propaganda.
THOSE WHO NOW CALL FOR LIGHTING CANDLES IN LJUBLJANA ONLY FOR CERTAIN VICTIMS, THOSE WHOM YOU HAVE CHOSEN AS VICTIMS, DO NOT REALISE HOW WIDE OPEN YOU HAVE THROWN THE WINDOW INTO OUR REVOLUTIONARY PAST.
All of this is a consequence of our unresolved past. Many people still do not know who the perpetrators were and who the victims were. The reasons for those events were never discussed in public, which is why we had President Kučan. His main task was to ensure that no one would be held accountable, especially the judiciary. Having a former party secretary as president for ten years is almost a divine punishment for stupidity. Danilo Türk recently confirmed his ideological affiliation on RTVS.
And while we are on the topic of presidents of the Republic of Slovenia, I must ask the current president, when will you make a public statement in support of Israel in its struggle against attempts at genocide against the Jews, and perhaps a word about the release of hostages and Hamas’s extortion with them, thereby hindering the achievement of much-needed peace for everyone. Do you have any ideas?
