Do you still remember how the electro-genius once mused, back in the pre-election period years ago, that he had too much money and therefore did not oppose higher taxes, because he would supposedly just waste his surplus on various stupid things?
Unlike him, most of my dear fellow citizens do not have an influential daddy or mommy to secure them a nicely paid job in the state kolkhoz. That is why most of us do not have too much money to waste on nonsense. And even if someone does, I dare say they would like to keep the privilege of deciding for themselves how and why to spend their surplus, whether on nonsense or smart choices, on education, investments, travel, drowning it in beer or gambling it away.
But the feathered bluffer does not think that way. And since four hundred thousand simpletons enabled him to become Prime Minister, his main concern now seems to be introducing legislation that would allow him to extract a few more coins from our pockets. Just days ago, the ruling coalition announced the possibility of introducing a tax on undeveloped building land. I am no lawyer, but since we are already paying a fee for the use of building land, this sounds a lot like double taxation to me, which, as far as I know, is prohibited under Slovenian law.
Of course, I am under no illusions that the Constitutional Court might speak up and slap Golob’s greedy claws, especially since he recently gave them a hefty raise. It is, however, interesting that he is not concerned about judges having too much money, money that comes straight from the tax grab that Golob and his clique are carrying out…
