“If you go to the media, we will crush you, we have everything under control”

The government of Robert Golob continues to politically appoint individuals in the healthcare sector. After replacing directors in practically all major healthcare institutions that did not fit into the left-wing quota, the turn has now come for the director of URI Soča, Zvone Čadež.

While most of the replaced directors remained silent about the reasons for their resignation or replacement, Zvone Čadež was the first to publicly speak about the pressures. Among other things, in an interview for Domovina, he stated that the board of trustees dismissed him on grounds of culpability, but these findings were only reached by the board after the current government appointed its people and gained the majority.

Among other things, Čadež was accused of running the institution at a loss, paying medical equipment suppliers late, and the hospital experiencing liquidity problems. However, it is striking that the board of trustees “withdrew” the accusations against Čadež and ultimately dismissed him with the explanation that he no longer enjoys the trust of the government.

The president of the board of trustees, as he revealed, offered him a consolation prize upon dismissal if he did not go to the media, while also issuing additional threats. “If you go to the media, I guarantee you that we will crush you, we are a steamroller, we have everything under control,” he said.
