Janez Janša: “Three necessary steps in finding a way out of the deadlock in negotiations between the government and the medical union”

By: Moja Dolenjska

After waiting in vain for representatives of the government and vice versa, the health minister Valentina Prevolnik Rupel called on both sides in the Fides doctors’ and dentists’ union to adopt a constructive attitude, as reported by Delo. It was also mentioned that the minister would not sit at the negotiating table.

Janez Janša, the president of the Slovenian Democratic Party, responded to all this on the X network and wrote:

Three necessary steps in finding a way out of the deadlock in negotiations between the government and the doctors’ union:

  1. Establishment of credible negotiating authority: The negotiating team of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia should finally be led by Prime Minister Robert Golob.
  2. Restoration of trust: The Government of the Republic of Slovenia acknowledges the commitments signed twice in 2023 and apologises to the public, doctors, and the Fides union for failing to fulfil them. Explain the reasons.
  3. Determination of the time frame and pace of negotiations: Due to the seriousness of the situation, the negotiating teams meet every day at the same time, 7 days a week, continuously, until a final agreement is reached.
