In the editorial office of Nova24TV, we are revealing a transcript in which it is evident that the chair of the investigative commission on the financing of political parties, Mojca Šetinc Pašek, publicly disclosed information from a classified section of the report, which includes secret and “forbidden” information about the activities of the Slovenian intelligence service SOVA.
Mojca Šetinc Pašek spoke about Hungarian owners of companies Ripost and RPRSTR, investigated by SOVA, and even compared their business activities to Iranian money laundering. Furthermore, she revealed that they were being tracked in Ljubljana hotels, thereby jeopardising the activities of the intelligence service.
Journalist and editor Peter Jančič commented on the statements of the chair of the investigative commission, saying that the transfers of Iranian secret services should not be equated with the business dealings of Hungarian entrepreneurs. He pointed out that Iran was under sanctions, whereas Hungary, like Slovenia, is part of the European Union where there is free movement of capital, services, and markets. “This is like calling the Prime Minister of Italy a fascist. Then Golob goes there.”
It is worth remembering that Mojca Pašek Šetinc, excluded from the Gibanje Svoboda party, leads the investigative commission targeting opposition media and is determined to prove covert financing with the Slovenian Democratic Party. Director of Nova24TV Boris Tomašič has emphasised multiple times that Pašek will have to substantiate her claims in court, and she has also appeared as a suspect in a pre-trial investigation for alleged abuses in obtaining data through the commission.
