Slovenia’s Maribor opened their qualifying series for the UEFA Champions League with a goalless draw against the Belarusian club Shakhtyor Soligorsk on home turf on Wednesday evening.
The teams will play a return match next Wednesday. Maribor, crowned Slovenia’s champion for the 16th time last season, had the upper hand in the first half of the match with the Belarus team dominating the second one.
