Dejan Jefim, President of the Slovenian Taxi Drivers’ Union, promises free taxi rides to the elections. The union is also working with Nika Kovač from the 8. Marec Institute. At the same time, Jefim is linked to the Russian multinational Yandex.
So is the Russian company Yandex meddling in Slovenian elections? It is in the name of Yandex that the 8. Marec Institute, as well as the Taxi Drivers’ Syndicate, is supposedly pushing Uber out of Slovenia. Jefim, however, owns 80% of the IT of all taxi services and is also the Yandex manager for the entire region of the former Yugoslavia. Nika Kovač, who, together with Jefim, is working for the victory of the left-wing parties in Sunday’s elections, is therefore, together with Dejan Jefim, apparently linked to a Russian multinational.
