Janez Janša for Demokracija on death threats: “I expect the police and the prosecution to react according to the law.” Interior Minister Hojs also responded: “Threats to Janez Janša and Matej Tonin are unacceptable and reprehensible. It is even more reprehensible that not all political parties have yet condemned the threats.”

On Friday, a letter envelope arrived at Janez Janša’s home address, in which a cartridge of a larger calibre and a death threat were attached. Not only to the Slovenian Prime Minister, but also to his entire family.

“I expect that the police and the prosecution will react in accordance with the law or in the same way as in the case of the threat to Pahor,” Janša commented briefly for Demokracija.

It is horrifying that the letter also included a photograph of Janša’s family. The stranger also drew a target on the forehead of his wife Urška Bačovnik Janša.

The Minister of Defence Matej Tonin also received a letter with similar content.

Minister of the Interior Aleš Hojs responded on the social network Twitter: “Threats to Prime Minister Janez Janša and Defence Minister Matej Tonin are unacceptable and reprehensible. Even more reprehensible is the fact that the threats have not yet been condemned by all political parties. The police must do everything possible to find the perpetrators. However, such things could already be limited by the prosecution.”
