Efforts to classify paedophilia as normal

By V4 Agency

There are growing efforts to classify sexual relationship between adults and children as lawful and to provide explanations for paedophilia. A divisive television show has sparked renewed debate over the issue recently.

Western countries see growing efforts to legalise paedophilia by turning a blind eye to or even supporting sexual acts against minors. Promoters of identity policies seem to fail to protect children in the spirit of political correctness.

In the Netherlands, the television programme “Gewoon. Bloot.” (Simply Naked) sparked renewed debate over the issue. In the show, young children can ask questions from five completely ordinary people. The five guests, however, stand stark naked in front of the children who can discover in this way what is real and normal about the human body, according to the creators of the show. “Everyone looks perfect on Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok. Many people use filters, make-up or even undergo surgeries to look better,” said the Dutch television broadcaster.

Conservative politicians voiced strong criticism over the show and launched a campaign to collect signatures. “This is an offence against decency and contrary to morals,” the Reformed Political Party (SGP) said.

“Kids question naked adult men with piercings in their penis. The public broadcaster comes close to promoting paedophilia. Is this meant by sexual education for children? It’s just a bunch of flashers,” said Thierry Baudet, leader of the Forum for Democracy party.

In fact, the punishability of paedophilia is not a new issue. In the 1970s, the French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre also supported a petition in defence of paedophilia launched and signed by many prominent left-wing personalities in Europe.

In the Italian daily Corriere della Sera, Sergio Romano recalled that the petition was launched in 1977 after three men had been taken into custody for having sex with several fifteen-year-old boys. The men had been in prison for more than three years, awaiting trial. However, as it turned out, the boys did not suffer abuse as they had given explicit consent. This was the context for launching the petition – supported by the left-wing elite and prominent intellectuals – that aimed to have regulations, deemed obsolete by the left, removed from the criminal code.

However, propaganda in support of paedophilia is not limited to one or two groups. A different attitude towards paedophiles, seeing them as victims and not criminals, is advocated in some progressive corners of the world. This trend is prevalent at super progressive universities in English-speaking countries and in other “woke” circles.

As reported by InsideOver, the University of Wurzburg hosted a Ted Talk with the title Future Societys a few years ago. Presenters included a medical student, Mirjam Heine, who delivered a rather divisive presentation on the need for people to change their attitude towards paedophilia.

In her presentation, Heine cited some scientific research studies that describe paedophilia as an “unchangeable sexual orientation”.  As can be read in the programme notes, the student was inspired by the work of a certain Dr. Klaus Beier, head of a sexology institute in Berlin. According to Heine, “no one is responsible for their sexual orientation and for their feelings, but that everyone is responsible for acting upon this sexual orientation.”

In the spirit of inclusivity, her latest initiative involves publicly calling for the acceptance of paedophiles and the legalization of paedophilia. This is also the message of the documentary I, Pedophile: Understanding the Mental Disorder. “Pedophiles have long been the most demonised people in society,” states the introduction. “New research is showing that understanding the condition, and addressing it are the first steps in lowering instances of child sexual abuse.”

As of late, certain paedophiles are revealing their faces online, making them easily identifiable, for instance, by parents.

Meanwhile, in the spirit of California progressivism in October 2020, Democrats passed a law that eases the penalty for adults engaging in sex with minors if that person is within ten years of the age of the victim. Democratic Representative Scott Wiener, a supporter of the law, said the bill was tabled with the aim of ending “blatant discrimination against LGBTQ people.”

This is not the first attempt at “normalisation” paedophilia. As part of the “Kentler Project” in West Berlin, homeless children were regularly placed with paedophile men, assuming they would be ideal foster parents precisely because of their feelings for young children. The practice continued for decades, with paedophile foster fathers even receiving a regular care allowance.

Helmut Kentler was a leader at the Center for Educational Research in Berlin. He was convinced that sexual contact between adults and children was harmless. Berlin’s child welfare offices and the governing senate turned a blind eye or even approved of the placements.

Some institutions are altogether too tolerant of paedophilia and perpetrators. In the Netherlands, in 2013, the Court of Appeal ruled that the activities of a foundation called Sticthing Martijn, which has been promoting the legalisation of paedophilia for more than thirty years, could not be banned.

In 2019, the Strijd Tegen Misbruik Foundation called for a ban on the so-called “paedophile manual,” a book of more than a thousand pages explaining in detail how paedophiles can lure, groom and abuse children without anyone finding out about it. The then minister of justice, Ferdinand Grapperhaus, said in connection with the case that the ministry’s legal team were of the opinion that the ban was impossible because the book did not contain criminal material.

In addition, there is a political formation in the Netherlands often referred to as the pedo-party. The Party of Brotherly Love, Freedom and Diversity (Partij voor Naastenliefde, Vrijheid en Diversiteit) was originally formed in 2006 and re-established last year. The party calls for the legalisation of sexual relations with minors and for the decriminalisation of  child pornography possession. In response to their reemergence last October, the Save all Kids association organised a demonstration of a few hundred people protesting the acceptance and normalisation of paedophilia.
