Big protest against the dissolution of Generation Identity in Paris

A big protest against the dissolution of Generation Identity was held in Paris this Saturday. While the mainstream media reports that there were only a few dozen or a couple of hundred people present it seems that they are distorting the facts again, as according to the reports of the various identitarian groups, around three thousand people gathered in support for the French identitarians, and to protest the decision of the French Interior Ministry.

The French identitarians were originally the founders of Generation Identity in 2021, and in the following years, the movement spread all over Europe. Since it was attracting much media attention, organized well planned and coordinated actions, and gained rising support from the people, the movement quickly became a thorn in the heel of leftist “humanitarians”, liberal think tanks, Antifa groups, and, of course, the international globalist elites. So, for the past few years, Generation Identity was facing almost complete censorship on social networks, and both French and Austrian activists of the movement also faced typical accusations of “racism” and legal troubles. The Austrian identitarians were thus accused of “forming a criminal organization” in 2018, but in spite of media and political pressure, they were acquitted in court. And after a big action in the Alps against illegal migrations in 2019, organized by the French chapter, and attended by identitarians from other countries, where they symbolically patrolled the border passes, the French identitarians also found themselves in court. The main charge was that they were “impersonating police officers”. First, they were sentenced to fines and prison but were later acquitted as well.

At the beginning of 2021, the French identitarians organized another, smaller, symbolical action in the Pyrenees Mountains, where due to increased mass migration the local authorities closed the border pass and announced increased security measures. The identitarians went to Col du Portillon border pass with Spain, where, as they said, they did not notice a single policeman, despite the supposedly increased security. They stayed on the border pass, patrolling the borders and notifying the local police upon sighting any illegal migrants. This was of course condemned by the mainstream media and some local politicians and was also the cause for the French Interior Minister Gérard Darmanin to start the process of the dissolution of Generation Identity in France, which he announced on February 13th. The main reasons for dissolution are “incitement to discriminate against a person or group because of their origin” and »forming a militia«. The Office for the crimes against humanity and genocide also joined the plea to ban the group. On the other hand, the leader of the National Assembly party, formerly National Front, Marine Le Pen, also commented on the dissolution, saying that Darmanin cannot just ban a movement because he disagrees with it, adding that the “rule of law doesn’t work that way”.

The French authorities are putting the movement of young patriots side by side with terrorists, just because they want to protect their ethnocultural heritage and their country from the great replacement, mass migrations, and Islamization. The identitarians answered by organizing a great protest rally in Paris on Saturday of 20th February 2021, against the dissolution of Generation Identity. According to the reports of various identitarian groups on social networks, three thousand identitarians and their supporters attended. They carried banners stating “Against the dissolution”, and according to the Association Press reports, which otherwise claims that only a few hundred people attended, the leader of the French Generation Identity, Clement Gandelin, said that they have all the proofs they need to stop the process of the dissolution and to overthrow the charges. Generation Identity was given ten days to respond to the charges. At the same time, the Antifa provocateurs organized their own “counter-protest” a kilometer and a half away, but both protests were largely peaceful, aside from a few isolated incidents.
