Antifa wants to ban a book that has not even been published yet. All this comes as little surprise, because the book discusses the movement and its struggle to destroy democracy.
In his new book slated to debut in just a few weeks, conservative journalist Andy Ngo explains how Antifta is planning to destroy democracy. Tensions are mounting in Portland before the upcoming book launch, with Antifa activists protesting in front of a bookstore against the volume’s release.
The above message was posted by the author himself on social media. He wrote that activists had gathered in front of Powell’s bookstore in central Portland on Monday to demand that the store “pull back my book” from its shelves.
Expecting the arrival of Antifa supporters, and fearing the possibility of ensuing riots, the bookstore was evacuated on Monday. They announced that, although the store would not put the book on its shelves, it would sell it online. Apparently, the protest is not a one-off incident and the store expects continued rioting.
In a video recorded outside the store, an activist says they will show up at the book store every day until they stop selling the conservative journalist’s book. The activist argues that blocking the release of the book would be like banning the historic publication of Hitler’s Mein Kampf.
In his book Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy, Andy Ngo tells the story of the extremist Antifa movement. The book, to be released in February, includes interviews with former followers of the group and people who have been attacked by them. Andy Ngo himself has been assaulted by Antifa activists.
“None of them have read the book and they still demand it be banned. This is a dangerous cult of ignorance,” the author said.
