The Government has adopted the SDS, NSi and SMC amendments on new solidarity allowances for children and newborns!

At its 152nd correspondence session, the Government approved the proposals for the amendments by the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, and the Ministry of Finance. The Government also agreed with the amendments proposed by the SDS, NSi and SMC parliamentary groups. 

The amendments bring some substantive changes to some of the articles. Among other things, it has been added that the student dormitories that have been providing their services with a limited extent since the 1st of June 2020, due to the implementation of the measures to limit the spread of the covid-19 epidemic, and who have not been charging their users for their services since the 31st of March 2020, will have the costs of their ongoing operation and services covered from the state budget of the Republic of Slovenia.

Another amendment that has been added states that the pupils and students who are working with patients with the coronavirus are also entitled to the allowance for the direct work with covid-19 patients, in the amount of 30 percent of their hourly rate.

With another amendment, the beneficiary of a one-off solidarity allowance of 50 euros per child, is one of the parents or another person that cares for the child, for each child, for the month of November 2020. It has also been added that the childcare allowance for the months during the epidemic will be increased by 100 euros. Parents of a child that has been born between the 1st of January 2020, and up until one year after the epidemic, are entitled to a one-off solidarity allowance for their newborns.
