Council of Europe is going crazy: In Germany, there is still too much freedom of speech!

Officials of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) at the Council of Europe have become completely confused. Now they say there is still too much freedom of speech in Germany.

To summarize only part of the text published on the website www.gatestoneinstitute.org , where, among other things, we can read the following findings:

“Europe has many laws and rules on hate speech online, thanks in part to the efforts of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) – an unelected body – and the Council of Europe.

Finally, ECRI “strongly welcomes the German government’s implementation of the recommendation [in the 5th ECRI report about Germany], to put into law the obligation to suspend public funding of political parties and other organizations promoting racism” and recommends that such proceedings be considered against political party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD).

Since 1994, ECRI has issued its highly politicized recommendations to European governments, in confidential government consultations, withdrawn from public scrutiny. Only final reports are being published.

Since such undeniable undemocratic governance, where an unruly body of experts tells national governments how to deal with fundamental issues, such as freedom of speech, has been going on for decades, it can be assumed, that either the Europeans approve these measures or do know absolutely nothing about them.”
