Dutch police on Wednesday arrested a 24-year-old migrant for stabbing a woman in the neck as she rode her scooter down the street in Vlaardigen.
It was 8 o’clock in the morning when police were alerted to the attack. Unfortunately, once police arrived at the scene of the crime the suspect was nowhere to be found.
According to police, the victim was immediately treated by emergency services for “superficial” injuries but did not require hospitalization, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports.
Prior to the attack, the perpetrator – a migrant with no permanent residence – and the victim had never met each other.
Surveillance footage obtained by police showed that the migrant had been lurking around a neighborhood not far from where the attack had taken place earlier the same morning. Around 7am the migrant was recorded walking around a residential area where he rang the doorbells at several houses.
