Plan to trap and relocate 'selfie bear' in Mexico

The bear became famous last week after appearing to pose for a selfie while inspecting a group of hikers.

An online campaign has been launched to stop a beloved bear from being trapped and relocated.

The black bear became an internet sensation last week when footage was posted of it appearing to pose for a selfie with a hiker in Mexico's Chipinque Ecological Park.

But Mexican authorities said they had set several non-lethal traps for the bear so it could be relocated.

A petition at has more than 135,000 signatures and calls for the bear to be left alone.

A 25-year-old woman with a sore throat was shocked to discover the culprit was actually a worm alive and wriggling in her tonsils.

The woman in Tokyo, Japan, had gone to hospital complaining of five days of an unpleasant sensation in the back of her throat.

When doctors took a look, they realised it was a job for the tweezers.

The medics found a 4cm-long roundworm alive and moving around in her left tonsil, where it was busy shedding its outer cuticle.
