By: gov.si

Slovenian Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva Ambassador Sabina R. Stadler handed over today a high-tech disinfection system, to the World Health Organization in Geneva. The device will be used at the WHO Geneva headquarters, where it will provide additional protection to its employees and visitors.

The World Health Organization has been playing a particularly prominent role in the international community for the past year, since it has been leading global efforts to combat COVID-19. Slovenia has always had a very close friendship with the WHO, as it is the first organization to accept Slovenia into its membership in the UN system. “In support to our friends at the WHO, we have found a Slovenian high tech device which disinfects premises with ultraviolet light, and will help in preventing possible infections among their employees and visitors,” ambassador Sabina R. Stadler said at the ceremony. “With the donation, Slovenia pays a triple tribute to the WHO: to its leadership and relentless efforts to respond to this pandemic, to their sharing of the word of science and accurate information, as well as to their staff.” The Director General of WHO Tedros, warmly acknowledged Slovenia’s donation and expressed his gratitude for Slovenia’s ongoing support to the WHO.
