(VIDEO + PHOTOS) New terrorist attack in France, at least three people confirmed dead

At least three people have been killed today in Nice, France in a knife attack, which the local mayor described as a »terrorist« incident.

The attack happened in a church, the Notre Dame Basilica. Among the confirmed victims was a woman who was decapitated inside a church.

The attacker was shot by the police, but is still alive and has been taken into custody.

The spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office told the press that the anti-terror prosecutor will be leading the investigation about the attack. In response to the attack the France’s Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin held a crisis meeting at the ministry. President Emmanuel Macron will travel to Nice after attending that meeting, the Elysee Palace said.
