How Europe’s patriotic leaders wish people a merry Christmas

Funny footage, attention for people who suffer and yellow vests: Europe’s right-wing leaders had different ways of wishing everyone a merry Christmas. 

Dutch MP Geert Wilders wished the people a merry Christmas with some funny video footage. Wilders, who is starring, brings a Christmas tree from the North Pole to the Netherlands. Pretty funny and creative. “I wish everybody a wonderful Christmas,” he says at the end of the video.

Italian Interior Minister and Lega party leader Matteo Salvini said on Facebook:

“Merry Christmas to all of you friends.

“A thought especially to those who are alone, to those who suffer, to those who work even tonight, to those who seek serenity, to those who have had difficult days and hope in a better future, to those who do not give”.

Marine Le Pen, the leader of Rassemblement National or National Rally, had a longer statement on Christmas and related it to the actual situation in France:

“Ladies and gentlemen, this past year has been, at least to say, particular.
With terrorism horrors, it came to remind us that the curse of the events, if we are refusing to control it, could be tragic.
