Disaster as 200 migrants storm border fence separating Morocco from Spanish enclave

One dead and 19 injured after roughly 200 people broke through a fence to enter Spain’s Melilla enclave, according to authorities, reports Voice of Europe.

 

“Unfortunately, one of the migrants died… it seems from a cardio-pulmonary arrest,” the local Spanish police said. Another 100 migrants were unsuccessful in breaking through the fence and were stopped .

The 19 injured migrants have been treated for fractures or cuts, according to Sabrina Moh in an official statement. As well, six members of the border security forces was hurt though not requiring medical attention.
