Hungarian border police over the weekend apprehended 151 migrants who had illegally entered the country, authorities announced in a press release.
The migrants, after being apprehended by border authorities, were escorted back to the countries they had illegally crossed from.
In addition to the 151 migrants who were caught inside of Hungarian territory, border guards prevented another 37 from entering at all.
Three repeat border offenders were arrested by Hungarian authorities and criminal proceedings were initiated against two individuals for falsifying documents.
Although police didn’t mention what nations the migrants had originated from, the vast majority of migrants traveling along the Balkan route come from Middle Eastern and Central Asian regions.
