Six Kosovar Islamists who planned to carry out suicide bombings against the Serbian community, NATO forces, as well as targets in France and Belgium, were sentenced by a court in Pristina, Kosovo.

The group was suspected of planning “suicide car bomb attacks” against KFOR soldiers and the NATO force in Kosovo which hosts some 4,000 peacekeepers in former territory of Yugoslavia, which gained independence from Serbia in 2008, France’s Le Figaro reports.

According to the same judicial source, the group also planned “suicide attacks in places frequented by citizens in Belgium and France.”
